Leaders depend on seven principles of TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP:

(1) Principle of Simplification: are you able to articulate a clear, practical and transformational vision?

(2) Principle of Motivation: are you highly effective at gaining the agreement and commitment of other people?

(3) Principle of Facilitation: do you have the ability to effectively facilitate the learning of individuals, teams, and other reliable and reputable resources?

(4) Principle of Innovation: do you have the ability to boldly initiate change to fulfill the vision?

(5) Principle of Mobilization: do you have the ability to enlist, equip and empower others to fulfill the vision?

(6) Principle of Preparation: do you have the ability to keep learning with and without the help of others?

(7) Principle of Determination: are you the one that has ability to finish the race?

  • The one who has the ability to finish the race has already done so. He is my Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only help anyone needs to learn of their Salvation because He paid for it and He draws all to Himself with the power of the Holy Spirit. His vision is His Church and He empowers it, not me or any other human or human system. He is the only resource and none of us needs to find other “reputable” resources (especially not from non-Christian authors). His love for me and in my life is all the motivation required and the only motivation that is effective. Simply stated, Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

  • Quite a list! And in question format – so I ask some questions, too.

Can any one leader have all these principles? While these seem to be in a specific order, which do you consider to the be the most important ones? If a leader lacks one (or more) of the seven, can this person be a leader?

Can these principles be distributed over a small team of people, such that the Team functions as leader?
